The Firefly™ Petunia is Strictly an Outdoor Plant

MYTH: "The Firefly™ Petunia is strictly an outdoor garden flower and will immediately die if brought indoors."

FACT:

False! Garden petunias are usually grown as annuals, but they're actually tender perennials. With the right indoor care, your Firefly Petunia can keep growing, and glowing, inside your home all winter long.

Light is the key

Petunias are sun lovers. Light doesn't "charge" the glow; it fuels your plant's overall health and metabolism, and a healthy plant equals a healthy glow! Indoors, give your plant your sunniest south-facing window (6 or more hours of direct sun) or a full-spectrum LED grow light for 12 to 14 hours a day. In mid-winter, most windows will need a grow light's help. Without enough light, the plant slows down and its glow softens.

Give it a nightly rest

Turn the grow light off for about 10 hours each night. Darkness is when you'll see the glow: it's always on, but you can only see it once the lights go out.

Keep it cozy

Keep your plant between 65 and 75°F, away from cold drafts and heat sources.

Give it the light it needs, and enjoy a soft moonlight glow in your home all season long!
