It’s just a humble white petunia by day, but at night… wow! The 3 plants came in perfect condition and were easy to pot up. I sprinkled a water-soluble granular fertilizer that feeds the flowers every time I water and they’ve since set many more buds. Friends & neighbors are fascinated and ask where I got them. As a life-long gardener, growing these unique flowers has just been so much fun! The photo was taken in total darkness, no editing or enhancement.

Ok so I wanted to loooove these! I purchased two and transplanted them as per the instructions. However, they were alive, but they were not thriving after a month or so. I wrote to the company and they sent me a new one, which was awesome! However, this new one had the same problem as the first two.

I was gonna transplant them into something smaller, but when I took them out of the soil, I realized that their roots were not growing past the biodegradable root pouch that they had come in.. I cut it off and transplanted them together and they grew like crazy! I was so proud!

However, I had a fungus gnat infestation and I don’t know if when trying to destroy them, I hurt the plants as well because they started to die off. Absentmindedly, I took a couple of clippings and put them in my aerogarden - the thing went crazy!!

I don’t know why, but I have the hardest time, growing it in soil and I’ve tried a few different things ! It got so top heavy it fell out of the aero garden so I put it in soil and it immediately stated to die - here I am with a couple of clippings, I managed to save off of it.

It sure is beautiful when it grows well!

I do love my firefly petunias.
They are a commitment to care for that definitely has its rewards.

However, I have ordered three times.
I ordered first year.

I have had one plant from each order die shortly after receiving shipment.

AND...how long do I have to wait till I can buy a bioluminescent weeping willow???

So being a annual most people i see commenting on these in social media are hesitant but im telling you they have been so easy to keep indoors they bloom constantly and are just a delight to keep they also seem to self seed and spread easily which is a major bonus for building a plush foliage

I am happy that the plants glowed as advertised, even on day of delivery. They were healthy, and quickly put into a larger pot. They do need a regular feeding to keep the glow brighter as advertised.
Unfortunately when the cottonwood trees started putting off seeds in the area they got on the plants. I tried picking all the seeds off but the plant acted as velcro to the cottonwood seeds. Now everywhere the cottonwood seed touched is dieing off. The leaves and blooms have all shriveled and turned brown and dried up the were touched. I made a screen cylinder with a screen lid to try to protect the plants and try save them. Not sure if it's to late.

The photo was from a night shot using software for looking at stars. It's a little blurry but standard photo methods do not do the glow justice. It was also from the day after delivery.

Evil cottonwood trees trying to harm these great flowers.

This is my second year ordering these. It's doing better this year than last year. They have a wonderful scent, so pretty day and night.

I bought one of the first gen Firefly Petunias for myself, and it was absolutely incredible. Once it had recovered from shipping and with proper care, my petunia glowed so brightly that I kept it on my nightstand as a night light (and sometimes it was too bright for that!) I was also able to propagate plants from cuttings, which I mostly kept for myself but gave some away to friends who needed cheering up. This year I purchased a bunch of 2nd gen Firefly Petunias to ship to family members who live across the country. light.bio was wonderful about sending the plants at the right time of year for each location. Not sure about the condition of the plants when they arrived or whether the recipients had green thumbs or not :P but light.bio did an excellent job of not only making an amazing, one-of-a-kind product, but also having flawless fulfillment. Big thanks, highly recommend, and I will be ordering more plants in the future I'm sure!

I love having something a little unique. It's so fun to see them glow at night. And they're gorgeous during the day too! So fun!

I was a little skeptical that these Petunias would work. After a month of TLC they turned out spectacular! Great product.

These are great! Second year ordering and the flowers have been great both years.

My Firefly Petunias are beautiful. They are a beautiful bright white during the day and then at night they glow so perfectly. I absolutely love them. I am hoping that you offer them again next year. I will be buying them again if so!

I expected a little more from the photos. I learned that they have to be taken with a long exposure and they do turn out pretty cool, but it is pretty difficult to see the “glowing” without taking the flowers into a pitch black room.

I bought three larger 'Firefly' petunias in 2024 and they were so fun to grow and it was fun to share their story with friends and family! They grew well outside. I used them for teaching in my plant physiology class too! I have a video of them on our deck in the evening with real fireflies that appear in the background.

These petunias are so magical! I'm just so happy with them. They smell amazing, they are healthy and happy, and they are so stunning to watch at night. I have stayed on top of deadheading my plants and they have thrived! Thank you, Lightbio!
