All my plants arrived safely, despite the heatwave. They're blooming beautifully and have a very pleasant glow. 5/5 would recommend.
My second order, now in 2025. I got three in 2024, six now. I really liked the over-communication from UPS, thank you for setting that up.
They're glowing plants, which is very cool. It is a faint glow, so don't expect to light a room, but it is a very neat effect. A camera on a regular setting doesn't show the glow well at all. You need a long exposure, but then it looks brighter than it really is, so no matter what, it's hard to get a picture that captures what they really look like.
I do love my firefly petunias.
They are a commitment to care for that definitely has its rewards.
However, I have ordered three times.
I ordered first year.
I have had one plant from each order die shortly after receiving shipment.
AND...how long do I have to wait till I can buy a bioluminescent weeping willow???
I am happy that the plants glowed as advertised, even on day of delivery. They were healthy, and quickly put into a larger pot. They do need a regular feeding to keep the glow brighter as advertised.
Unfortunately when the cottonwood trees started putting off seeds in the area they got on the plants. I tried picking all the seeds off but the plant acted as velcro to the cottonwood seeds. Now everywhere the cottonwood seed touched is dieing off. The leaves and blooms have all shriveled and turned brown and dried up the were touched. I made a screen cylinder with a screen lid to try to protect the plants and try save them. Not sure if it's to late.
The photo was from a night shot using software for looking at stars. It's a little blurry but standard photo methods do not do the glow justice. It was also from the day after delivery.

I bought one of the first gen Firefly Petunias for myself, and it was absolutely incredible. Once it had recovered from shipping and with proper care, my petunia glowed so brightly that I kept it on my nightstand as a night light (and sometimes it was too bright for that!) I was also able to propagate plants from cuttings, which I mostly kept for myself but gave some away to friends who needed cheering up. This year I purchased a bunch of 2nd gen Firefly Petunias to ship to family members who live across the country. light.bio was wonderful about sending the plants at the right time of year for each location. Not sure about the condition of the plants when they arrived or whether the recipients had green thumbs or not :P but light.bio did an excellent job of not only making an amazing, one-of-a-kind product, but also having flawless fulfillment. Big thanks, highly recommend, and I will be ordering more plants in the future I'm sure!
I was a little skeptical that these Petunias would work. After a month of TLC they turned out spectacular! Great product.
These petunias are so magical! I'm just so happy with them. They smell amazing, they are healthy and happy, and they are so stunning to watch at night. I have stayed on top of deadheading my plants and they have thrived! Thank you, Lightbio!
The firefly petunias are as cool as I hoped they'd be! The more they grow the glowier they appear.
They aren't any harder to take care of then regular petunias, if anything they're easier because the glow will change between when the happy and when they're not. And they are a great conversation starter in the late afternoon and night time if you keep them close to your porch like I do. Honestly a great purchase and a unique gift for any green thumbed significant others. Ps. The picture is after a nearly week long rain storm
Was following light.bio for a year before the petunias released. Got them and they’re beautiful. Need to water them quite often, but still beautiful! You can see them glow as soon as you turn off the light, even more so if they’re healthy!
i really love that they glow but sadly mine and growing beautiful the way lot others are people got. One totally died and other two do bloom here and there but wont grow straight up and fall to the sides. I use good fertilizer jacks the watering im not sure maybe im doing something wrong. Im new at this. But overall i love them anyway. I can always buy more and retry
So far I have been bragging to all my friends about my friends. My plants are very happy and thriving. I got a new phone with a better camera just to take photos of my firefly petunia. I have also been posting about them. They are growing fast and may need to plant in a bigger pot. So far they love to grow towards the window to maximize their sunlight exposure.
I absolutely love these plants!!! Only real problem I had was keeping them indoors since they didn’t glow as brightly (might be that my grow light isn’t strong enough) so I moved them out to the patio and they’ve been thriving ever since. They are also incredibly resilient and pretty easy to maintain! Overall I look forward to buying more of these plants and more when they come out!
Last sumner I purchased a Firefly Petunia after hearing a podcast on NPR. I was sent two small plants that grew wonderfully! So this summer I purchased another round of plants. Because my plants were so successful last summer, I decided to give two plants (from a single three-pac) to my friends! And of course as luck would have it all three plants died within a week of being replanted and given away. Well, lightbio was kind enough to replace them. We got them yesterday, so I delivered them to my friends to replant! So far so good! I'll keep you updated!
Strangely my item didn’t even say shipped till it arrived. The plants are in excellent condition though, very happy with the purchase.
I purposely took pictures of these lovely Roberta's Glow In the Dark Petunia's the moment I took them out of their carrier boxes. I ordered a total of 4, and not one came in less than perfectly healthy condition, and I was thrilled to see the numerous flowers on each plant! The quality I've come to appreciate with each Roberta's live plant purchase! I took these pictures showing the cardboard supports still around the base of the plant to show the care given before shipping, a few seconds after delivered at door, as an honest testimony with my purchases, LOVE THESE !!!

These arrived in great condition!! After one week they are doing awesome. Hoping to plant outside soon, maybe that will enhance the glow.
These arrived today. I was a little worried because they were in transit for about 5 days. However, they look healthy, mostly green and shouldn't have an issue surviving. I had these last year and they were a ton of fun.
